The first camera
It started with a family camcorder and a few friends willing to star in some truly bad movies.
The purpose
Field report No. 01

The reels
Short, cinematic pieces made for the feed: shot on location, cut tight, and finished with commercial polish. Tap any reel to watch it with sound.
On location
What doesn't make the cut: early call times, stuck trucks, crew snacks and the people who make the work happen.

What we make
Story-led pieces for brands with a point of view, from a 30-second spot to a longer film.
A steady drumbeat of short, cinematic content, shot and cut to stop the scroll.
Real people and causes, told honestly. Interviews, observational work and field shoots.
Editing, color and sound for teams that already have the footage and need the story.
Behind the camera
The best guides stay out of frame. I'm Luke Engel, a Denver filmmaker and editor, and I've spent my career behind the camera on other people's stories. Here's the road that led to Gray Pilgrim.

Brand films, documentaries and social content for clients like KSL Capital Partners, Intermountain Health, Kingsford, Netflix and ALPS Mountaineering.
Everything learned along the way, pointed at the stories of people and causes worth following.
